Adverbs of Place

Hello,

We are already on to Chapter 3, To Serve, With Love. For this chapter, the grammar item is Adverbs of Place.

Now, a quick note on it. Adverbs of place shows where something happens which include behind, above, abroad, anywhere, here, outside, somewhere, there, underground, upstairs ... Usually, these adverbs are placed after the direct object or main verbs.


Examples:

After the main verb:

He looked everywhere
Sasha looked away, up, down, around...
I'm going home, out, back
They came in

After the object:

They live nearby
She took the noisy boy outside


More Examples:

1. My purse is here in my bag. (The adverb is here. It shows where my purse is.)

2. Our house is behind the row of shops. (The adverb is behind. It shows where our house is.)

3. My brother is playing outside. (The adverb is outside. It indicates where my brother is playing.)
